Stark CJIS Web Site Privacy Policy

By visiting the Stark County Criminal Justice Information System (Stark CJIS) web site you are accepting the practices described in this notice.

Cookies

On some of our pages we may receive and store certain types of information whenever you interact with us. For example, we may use "cookies" to obtain certain types of information when you visit our site. Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that we transfer to your computer's hard drive through your Web browser to enable our systems to recognize your browser and to provide a more personalized experience. For example, one of our search pages uses cookies to store elements of your last search using that page so that you will not have to re-enter as much information on your next search. Most browsers allow you to control when cookies are written to your computer. However, cookies allow you to take full advantage of our personalization features and we therefore recommend that you leave them turned on. Check under "Help" in your browser for more information.

Secured Registration Information

The information a secured user provides is placed on the computer system of the Stark CJIS and is used to administer the functions of the Stark CJIS. A users address and phone number also may be accessed by the Clerk's Office, in connection with the user’s participation in cases.

All information provided during registration is a public record, except to the extent provided in Ohio Revised Code section 149.43.

We sometimes contract with other companies and individuals to perform functions on our behalf. For example, we may hire a company or individual to develop a computer program, help maintain our computer network, or process online transactions. These parties have access to personal information needed to perform their functions, but may not use it for other purposes.

Protection of your personal information

We work to protect the security of your information during transmission by using Stripe (SSL) software, which encrypts information you input. We will reveal only the last 5 digits of your credit card numbers when confirming a transaction. However, we transmit the entire credit card number to the appropriate credit card company during order processing. We do not store your credit card numbers on our computers. In order to prevent unauthorized use of your credit card we suggest that you sign off when finished using a shared computer, and take care not to allow unauthorized access to your computer or your passwords.

Access to your information

The Stark CJIS gives those who register online access to their registration information for the purpose of viewing and, in certain cases, updating that information.
